Veggie Sushi Lesson with guests from Israel

Hello everyone!

Today, I held Veggie (Vegan) Sushi lesson

for a family of three from Israel.

It seems that regardless of the country, 

a father's greatest joy is his family's happiness. 

The father handled all the arrangements for the lesson,

including the reservation. 

He was American, and this is the first trip to Japan with his family. 

He remarked, "The stores in Japan are big, like in America," 

which made me think I had misheard him, 

so I asked again. 

He then explained, "In Israel, everything is compact, 

and the stores are small, so the stores in Japan 

remind me of America.

" My assumption that American stores are definitely larger 

than Japanese ones was overturned by this comparison with Israel.

今日はイスラエルから3人家族のゲストさんをお迎えして

「ベジ（ヴィーガン）寿司」レッスンを行いました。

国が変われど、家族がハッピーなのが

お父さんの一番の喜びのようです。

レッスンの予約などすべてお父様が行われておりました。

お父様はアメリカ人で、今回ご家族と初来日、

「日本のお店は大きくてアメリカのよう。」

とおっしゃったのに、わたしの聞き間違えかと思い聞き返しました。

そうすると、「イスラエルはすべてがコンパクトでお店は小さいから、

日本のお店はアメリカを思い起こさせる。」

とのことでした。

私の「アメリカのお店の方が日本のお店より大きいに決まっている。」

という思い込みは、イスラエルとの比較によって覆されました。
